Meet Instructors
Randy Bougie
MSDT/Owner
Randy's passion for diving truly shines when he works with students. He is patient, safe and thorough in his instruction. He hopes all of his students make diving a part of their lives. Certified divers will enjoy Randy's octopus locating skills, as well as his knowledge and fondness of the ocean's creatures. Randy can answer your questions about underwater photography - pick his brain about white balance, macro use, or options for purchase. Just be aware of the nickname “Photo Nazi” given by the staff.
Bob Beard
MSDT/EFR
Bob has been certifying divers for over 5 years now. Having owned a dive company, his advanced knowledge and mentoring skills really help with the DMIT program. Bob's students say he is one super fun dude! Motorcycle questions are also not out of the question as he is currently on a cross country road trip from Jersey to Cali. We'll keep you posted.
Jim Mattern
OW Instructor
Jim grew up here on the Island, got married then left us. Now residing in the Portland area (burr - cold water). Hawaii is his second home so teaching and getting wet is the thing he does while on the Islands. He is an excellent instructor and dive leader, and did we mention multiple marathon finisher? Do you have the stamina to dive with Jim?
Andrew McKenzie
OW Instructor
Andrew is a Captain and tour guide for Atlantis Submarines. When you visit the wreck site section about the YO-257, and we talk about mooning the sub, this is the man that sees your rear-end. A truly calm and professional instructor who's always looking for that six pack violation. (We're not talking abs here!)
