What is SCUBA?

SCUBA originally being an acronym for Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus, although now widely considered a word in its own right is a form of underwater diving in which a diver uses a scuba set to breathe underwater for recreational or commercial reasons. Unlike early diving, which relied exclusively on air pumped from the surface, scuba divers carry their own source of breathing gas usually compressed air.

 

* All dive charters and classes are pre-paid with a 24hour cancellation policy. No classes may begin without full payment in advance; once a class begins there are no refunds. All cancellations must be made 24hours in advance to receive a refund, no exceptions.

Discover Scuba Diving

 

So, you decided you want to try SCUBA diving, but do not have the time to get certified. Or maybe you just want to try it because it sounds like fun. You're right; it is fun!

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving is one of our most popular dive experiences as it offers everyone (ages 10 and up) an opportunity to discover the underwater realm of Oahu.

In a short class you are taught basic diving skills that introduce the basic concept about diving, then Barefoot Scuba Instructors escort first time divers on an underwater experience of a lifetime. Remember this is not a certification class - we are only introducing you to the underwater world of Hawaii.
A standard medical form and liability release must be filled out prior to getting in the water: if you have any medical issues (daily drug use, heart/lung issues, ear surgery, etc...) we would need medical sign off from a physician okaying you to participate in diving.

Also remember you must not fly at least 12 hours after diving, 18 for repetitive dives!!
